South Florida is unique in that it allows for an ideal dog-pupparent relationship for this regions dog lovers. Let’s explore some of the dog parks located throughout South Florida.

Recently 10/16 Island on the Venetian Causeway has become home to a fresh, clean and beautiful dog park that still is not getting a lot of the paw prints that other nearby parks experience.

It is still not clear the intension of the two separate gated areas, (1) whether it be to separate the big dogs from the teeny weenies or (2) to allow regrowth while the other side is being used for puppy play. Regardless the dual gated areas is ideal and has become standard in the modern design of dog park landscaping.

Because the park is used mostly by its islands residents, it is still very quiet. Its Busiest times are between 7 am and 10 am and between 5 pm and 7 am. Weekends are pretty low key as well. It’s a great place especially if you’d like to ease your dog into socialization but not overwhelm him/her with one of the crazier parks.

Prices are reasonable, staff is friendly, and food is good. Although most infamous for their breakfast and upstairs jazz lounge, Van Dyke offers a great experience whether you are looking for breakfast, lunch, dinner, happy hour or even a midnight snack.
